I’m grateful to work in an industry where no two days are ever the same. I love the variety that each day brings; it’s the range of architectural styles of houses, their interior décor (great for inspiration for your own home), but more than that, it’s the people and their stories that make my job so enjoyable. Everyone has their own reason for moving; sometimes it can be a difficult situation, and I help to make their life easier.
To me, it’s important to get to know each and every client; understanding their situation and needs helps me to match them with their dream home. There is nothing like seeing the face of a buyer as we walk into a property they love; although they may not say it’s the one, their eyes give the game away.
The time just flies past every day working at Alexander & Co, I love how busy each day is. There is a real sense of pride working for a long-established agent, the most successful in the town. Since joining I’ve noticed how everyone works as a team, from the newest member right through to the top director, who regularly pops into the office.
When you do a job you love it’s hard to leave your work at the door. In the evening you are more likely to find me watching a bit of Kirstie and Phil in Location, Location, Location - I love how they just tell it how it is!
If I could live anywhere in the world, I think I would have to choose Australia. Confession: I have an addiction to Neighbours - although I acknowledge this has given me an unrealistic view of what life there might be like, it’s fun to dream.
Although my passion is property, my first love is my children and family; they are my motivation to be successful in what I do. I’m very lucky to be working in the same town that was my childhood home, and I have extended family here too. My children are now grown up but we still spend a lot of time together.
If I’m not with my family I enjoy a good day out shopping, but it’s essential to ensure there are plenty of coffee and cake stops.
