We love a good news story and having the opportunity to turn someone’s experience of selling their house around. Last year, a frustrated vendor came to us with a property he wanted to sell in Harrow, and we were only too happy to help.

Here’s the story:

Patrick put his property in Harrow on the market in summer 2018. He signed a 20-week contract with a local agent, who promised him that his property would sell for an over-estimated £800,000. The weeks went by, the viewings on the property were few and far between, and the property had had four viewings and no offers after 16 weeks. The estate agent continued to market the property, but reduced the asking price each time, and Patrick grew increasingly frustrated with the process. ‘I waited until the contract was up and then terminated the agreement,’ Patrick said. ‘I’d had enough.’

Once his contract was up with the original agent, Patrick met with Jon Webb, Branch Manager from Alexander & Co in Harrow, and another local agency. ‘I felt confident as soon as I met Jon,’ Patrick said. ‘He told me we could sell the property for £735,000, which I was happy with. I met with another agent, and was meant to meet with a third, but after meeting Jon I decided to go with Alexander & Co.’
As soon as Patrick instructed us, our Harrow team got to work, marketing the property and arranging viewings. The property had two viewings, and after the second one, an offer was made for the asking price. The property came off the market subject to contract two weeks after Alexander & Co were instructed.
‘Everything Alexander & Co did was great, even down to the conveyancing companies they recommended,’ Patrick said. ‘I’ve recommended them to friends and can’t speak highly enough of them.’
