Having been established in the town for over 15 years, the Alexander & Co Bicester team have over 85 years’ combined experience in property and estate agency. The team is a mixture of experienced professionals and people just beginning their career in property, covering all sides of property including sales, lettings and property management.
Two of our most experienced Bicester team members, Renee Booth and Annie Sparks, are working together to guide the team, and have worked hard to establish themselves as one of Bicester’s leading agents. Renee, who has 24 years’ industry experience, and Annie, who has 17 years’ experience, are a force to be reckoned with, and we wanted to introduce you to these two fantastic ladies whose experiencespans all sides of the property industry.
Renee Booth, Branch Manager:
Having worked for Alexander & Co for three years, Renee came to us already with 20 years’ experience under her belt, having worked for Northwood, Connells, and Bucknell and Ballard in their highly successful Bicester office, all in Branch Manager positions.
‘After I left school, I went to work as a PA for a financial advisor, and then worked in a bank for a while too,’ Renee said, ‘but neither of these jobs really fitted. I saw a job advertised in estate agency, went for it and have never looked back in 24 years.’
Over the last two decades, Renee has gained valuable experience in sales, lettings and property management. ‘When I started at Northwood it was a completely cold start, so I had really hands-on experience there. I’ve worked in sales throughout my career, worked in lettings for about eight years, and property management for six. The variation of what I do on a day-to-day basis is one of the things I enjoy most about my job; it requires tenacity and grit to flick from sales to lettings to PM and wear different hats, but I enjoy the challenge.’
When asked what she enjoys most about her job, Renee told us: ‘Moving home isn’t just a huge financial commitment, it’s also an emotional one. I’ve always striven to go against the stereotypical image and perception of estate agents and truly put my clients first, understanding them, what they want and what they need.’
Outside of work, Renee has plenty of interesting hobbies, which keeps her busy at weekends: ‘I had antique units for a while where I upcycled furniture, and I also make 1950s clothing and fascinators. I also make gemstone jewellery, macramé gifts and dream catchers. Alongside crafting, I’m also a Reiki Master teacher, crystal therapist, and currently studying to be a life coach and holistic counsellor.’
Annie Sparks, Business Development Consultant:
Originally from Ireland, Annie moved to the UK January 2003, and has been working in the property industry for 17 years. Annie came to Alexander & Co in 2019, having returned from maternity leave, with a tenacity and determination to make a difference to those in the area.
‘It was pure luck that I got into the property industry initially,’ Annie told us. ‘When I moved to the UK I went to a recruitment agency and they got me a temping job at an estate agents, which then led on to being offered a full-time role.’
Throughout her career Annie has gained valuable experience across all areas of estate agency. ‘I started at 21 as a Trainee Lettings Negotiator, and then moved to Oxford to work as a Negotiator and Property Manager. In 2011, I began working as a Lettings Manager, building their Bicester lettings business from scratch, something I’m really proud of. I took some time out to start a family, and then joined Alexander & Co in September 2019 as a Business Development Consultant, a role that allows me to use all of my knowledge and experience every day, as well as fit in around being a mum.’
When asked what she loves most about her job, Annie said: ‘I love meeting people and the customer service side of things. I always like to go the extra mile for people, but more than anything, I just love property! I’m always getting ideas for my own house or wanted to move every few months, much to my husband’s joy!’
When not at work, Annie can be found looking after her two young children and spending lots of time with her family. ‘Now I’m a Mum I don’t have too many hobbies, but I’m one of those people who actually enjoys exercise, so I try and run twice a week and do a couple of exercise classes. I also love food and eating out, which I do whilst socialising with my girlfriends.’
Renee and Annie are a fantastic team, and their door is always open should you need any help or advice on any area of property, be that putting your house onto the market, beginning the journey to becoming a landlord, or moving house as a tenant. If Renee, Annie or the team can help, you know where to find us.
