Offering greater breadth
We now operate as Alexander & Co and Peter Ball & Co from 12 offices, stretching from Dunstable to Tewkesbury and Cheltenham to Brackley. While we cover a greater geographical area, we still offer local, personal knowledge across all our offices, and thrive on being involved in the communities where we live and work.
We’re good at talking to each other too, which means a greater breadth of knowledge of different areas of the country.

When a new estate agency business joins the group, there’s no need for us to interfere with its existing ethos, as we only bring on board businesses with an excellent reputation and similar culture to ours. It stays a local business, with local people and a customer centric approach.
“When the name changes on the sign above the door, it’s still the same individuals who’ve worked in that branch for years and years,” Paul Abel, Area Director at Alexander & Co explains.
“We care about local communities and genuinely want to add value to these communities. People like to walk down the high street and say hello to the people who have helped them buy or sell their home. We’re built on local community, we’re built on recommendations, we’re built on reputation.”
Developing the people behind the service
As the group increases in size, so has the investment in our people. All the teams know the business has a clear direction, and there’s the support in place to help individuals develop, including structured, formalised training (such as ARLA and NAEA qualifications).
Ultimately, teams with greater knowledge will give customers even more confidence in what we do day-to-day. Enhanced support and skills development mean our people feel valued and allow them to advance and take advantage of opportunities across our group, in turn aiding retention across our teams.
Investment across the network
There’s also been more investment in IT, plus an updated CRM system for the whole agency network, all focused on ensuring we offer a top-level customer experience. By sharing a large database, we can help people move from one part of the country to another, from Buckingham to Cheltenham, for example (or move locally, of course, as is more often the case).
Updated and improved office environments (including air conditioning) mean that teams are even happier and more comfortable at work, with a positive knock-on effect to the service clients receive.
